One of my first kits growing up was a Gretsch. I remember jamming away on a “Blackhawk” 5-Piece in my parents basement. Since then, I’ve always been fond of the Gretsch brand. A few weeks ago, I finally broke down and invested in the 5-Piece Birch kit for the studio. This allows me to be able to keep a studio set mic’d up and another kit ready to head out for a gig. Once I set everything up, I tuned the heads quickly and immediately mic’d up the kit. Simply put, I was instantly blown away.
